Sections involving hydrogen must take explosion prevention into account, and fire alarms must be installed throughout the entire plant.
Electrical equipment must be explosion-proof, as the greatest hazard in the liquid chlorine process is nitrogen trichloride, which is most prone to exploding under conditions of static electricity, heating, or vibration.
There are no special requirements regarding the explosion-proof nature of electrical equipment, nor is it necessary to install an automatic fire alarm system. That’s how it is with us – neither the safety nor the fire safety inspections raised any objections.
Therefore, electrical explosion protection is meaningless for nitrogen trichloride. Explosion protection is aimed at fire-prone environments, explosive gas environments, and explosive dust environments.

Additionally, exhaust systems and chlorine absorption devices must also be installed.
