In the Unified Regulations on the Content and Depth of Construction Drawings for Chemical Process Design, HG20519-92, there is a table specifying pipe grade numbers and pipe material grades in HG20519.38; this standard is available on the forum, so please take the time to read it carefully.
Generally, it can be understood in that sense, as the temperature and pressure ratings of a pipe are determined by its material. However, typically, the standards specified in the pipe rating tables are lower than those of the actual material used. For example, if a certain material can withstand a pressure of 25 bar at 300°, then when assigning a rating to that pipe, it is usually classified in a lower category.
The pipeline material grade table and the pipeline grade table are essentially the same table; they just have different names. This table is intended to standardize the piping materials for the device and ensure their accuracy. Due to the increasing scale of design projects and shorter design cycles, it is necessary to break down design work into smaller tasks. During the detailed design phase of a large-scale installation, there are a dozen or even dozens of piping engineers involved in the pipeline design; if each of these engineers were to decide on the materials to be used, the variety of piping materials would become enormous, leading to great confusion. Therefore, it is necessary for material engineers to consider the pipeline materials as a whole, prepare a pipeline grade table, and specify and standardize the fittings used for pipelines of different grades. This makes management easier and facilitates the standardization of materials.
