What is the consumption of VCM synthesis catalyst? How are mercury-containing wastewater residues generally treated?
You can check "Polyvinyl Chloride Technology", which has a brief introduction, but the actual size is slightly larger.
Generally, the consumption is around 1.5KG/ton.
"GB15581-95 Caustic Soda and Polyvinyl Chloride Industrial Water Pollutant Discharge Standard" stipulates that mercury-containing wastewater shall be discharged after internal treatment reaches the standard. Our process is to use industrial hydrochloric acid to adjust the pH value to neutrality and then add sodium sulfide for stirring. Afterwards, sedimentation treatment is performed, the supernatant is discharged, and the sediment is cleaned regularly. Some people have suggested using sawdust and activated carbon for adsorption, but how can they be adsorbed after the sawdust and activated carbon are pulverized after being soaked in water?
I think wastewater treatment is at least half nonsense, just a show.
The general consumption is about 1.5KG/ton, but now there are many PVC manufacturers and few catalyst manufacturers, and the supply exceeds demand seriously, so the quality of catalyst production has declined, and the current production is about 2KG/ton.
Catalyst consumption is generally around 1.5kg/tPVC. The mercury-containing wastewater is neutralized and precipitated, and the waste residue is collected. The clear liquid is recycled and the waste residue is returned to the catalyst production plant for processing along with the waste catalyst.
