Yeah, we have this problem too. From my experience, arcing and sparking are related to dirt on the PTFE sleeve; it’s essential to keep the chassis clean before and after installing it in the furnace! Please ask experts to share their opinions!
Arcing refers to the discharge phenomenon that occurs when voltage breaks down the air; it is important to keep the chassis and electrodes clean, and there should be no sharp objects in the vicinity that could conduct electricity
If it refers to single crystals! I have photos of the heater after arc drawing, but unfortunately I don’t have the permission to upload them! It lights up too quickly; there’s no way to take a photo! Arcing occurs because the heater or other graphite components have not been cleaned properly, while sparking is caused by the heater’s electrode pins not being installed correctly or not being cleaned thoroughly! It is generally related to excessive moisture near the chassis, accumulation of dirt, and overly long silicon rods. When the furnace is started, the high-temperature electrodes ionize the atmosphere around them.

The issue of foxing occurs due to impurities in the PTFE coating on the copper electrode rod, which lead to high-voltage breakdown; this is what my master told me. My master is definitely an expert in the polycrystalline industry! Someone with an annual salary of 600,000!
