Under hydrogenation catalysis, precious metal catalysts are used, but filtration is required afterward; however, it’s currently difficult to achieve complete filtration – I’m not sure what good solutions exist
Use a nickel-based catalyst as the carrier (the product remains black regardless of how long it takes to settle after the reaction); the filtration temperature is around 90 degrees. Add 0.1%-0.2% diatomite and carry out the process for 30 minutes. First, perform coarse filtering using filter cloth or metal mesh, followed by fine filtering with filter paper. Our largest unit can filter about 10 tons per hour (with the moisture content of the material below 0.5%).
Our original approach was to press the material from the hydrogenation reactor into a sedimentation tank; after it settled for a while, it was filtered using cotton pulp paper in a vacuum filter. The cotton pulp paper was soaked in hot water, and this method yielded very good results.
