Our factory now needs to install a transformer. During the installation, it was found that the resistance of the high-voltage side of the transformer to ground is 750 megohms, and the resistance of the low-voltage side to ground is 180 megohms. Can it be used? Why?
What is the voltage level of the transformer? The high voltage cannot be less than 1 megohm per 1KV, and the low voltage cannot be less than 0.5 megohm. If the insulation does not meet the requirements and the transformer has been left for too long, you must first consider the oil to see if it is caused by moisture in the transformer. If possible, do various tests on the transformer, such as oil withstand voltage, chromatographic analysis, etc. Secondly, consider the internal problems of the transformer, whether there is insulation damage inside, or manufacturing issues from the manufacturer.
