Are there any standard or industry requirements regarding the drawing scale for plumbing and water supply projects? Should it be at a scale of 1:100 or in line with the actual building proportions? If there isn’t much content, can it be done at a scale of 1:200? Friends from the design institute, please help answer. Thank you
I’m a friend from an engineering design firm, but I’m not in the water supply and drainage field – what a pity! Based on my experience working with the plumbing and drainage team, their drawings are often prepared on a 1:100 scale; I have also seen them made at a 1:500 scale. So I think when the content posted by the original poster is limited, a 1:200 scale should work fine. The specification for piping drawings in our piping specialty requires a scale of 1:30 (1:25 can also be used) ; 1:50 ratio. The ratio is too high; the text becomes so dense that it’s impossible to read clearly, nor can annotations be added. But it seems that the proportion of those in the water supply and drainage field is quite large.
Hehe. . This ratio should be determined based on the actual circumstances. . . It doesn’t specify exactly how much it is. . The scale must be determined according to the actual dimensions. . I work in the process engineering field at a design institute. The drawings are made to actual size; once they’re completed, an appropriate frame is added around them. Then, the dimensions of that frame are divided by the dimensions of the paper on which the drawing is drawn, and this gives the scale of the drawing
