I would like to ask everyone: there is a DN350 flare pipeline installed on columns. The height of the first column is 15 meters, and the elevation of the flare pipeline at this point is EL15, with the BOP being the lowest point. The pipe gallery has a span of 6 meters each; due to its length, the flare pipeline ends up being about 600 meters higher than the columns. How should supports be arranged in such a situation? Should it be adjusted directly with pipe supports, or using a pipe rack along with pipe supports? Has anyone done support work for torch pipelines? Please share some advice The structure of the pipe gallery has been finalized and cannot be changed, so columns cannot be used for adjustment. Does anyone have a good method? Thank you?
The height of the pipeline can be adjusted gradually by using pipe supports
For pipes that need to have a slope when laid in a pipe tray, this can be achieved by adjusting the height of the pipe supports or by adding steel sections or steel plates as shims under the pipe supports.
It should be noted that the pipe supports in the HG section all have certain height limitations. The standard pipe supports are available in two sizes: 100 mm and 150 mm. After checking, all heights from J1 to J7 fall under these two sizes; for J8, the required height A must be ≤200 mm. So, as mentioned above, relying solely on tube supports definitely won’t work.
The installation of pipe supports for torches is a common issue; you want to use HG/T21629-1999 standard pipe supports in order to comply with the regulations. Generally, there are the following methods: 1. Give a slope to the layer of pipe racks where the flare header is installed; this way, you can choose the same height for all the pipe supports ; 2. If you do not want to give slope to the pipe rack at the flare level and instead want to use the flare pipes to create the slope, then when the height of the pipe supports exceeds the specifications in HG/T21269, you can install brackets or shaped steel members to address the issue of excessively high pipe supports
OP, HG/T21629 is a reference standard, not one that is applicable. Enforce standard criteria. We also have a term called non-standard pipe racks. When standard pipe racks are not sufficient, custom pipe racks can be used; as for the stress analysis of the pipe rack structure, it can be calculated independently of the overall structure.
