What is the difference between a single-acting slide valve and a double-acting slide valve? Why are double-acting slide valves used in the flue gas pipes of catalytic cracking regenerators, while single-acting slide valves are used in the standby and regeneration risers? What are the advantages of dual-action oil? ? ? ?
The purpose of installing a double-acting slide valve at the top of the regenerator is to prevent an increase or decrease in pressure due to the failure of one component. Additionally, the double-acting spool has a hole in it, which ensures some leakage even when it fails to close properly.
A single-acting slide valve controls the dense-phase catalytic fluid. The single-acting slide valve controls the opening of the valve port from fully open to fully closed in order to adjust the flow rate of the liquid catalyst fluid. Two shutters controlled by separate actuators adjust the air flow through modulation. These gates can be operated individually. The structural difference between a single-acting slide valve and a double-acting slide valve is that one has a single valve plate while the other has two valve plates. A single-acting slide valve can be fully closed, whereas a double-acting slide valve still allows a certain amount of leakage even when fully closed. A double-acting slide valve is used in the regenerator flue because it has a gap in the middle of its valve plate; even when fully closed, there is still some leakage, which helps to prevent pressure buildup in the regenerator. Single-acting slide valves are used on the standby and regenerative risers because, during the main air self-protection operation, these two valves need to be fully closed, which necessitates the use of single-acting slide valves.
