I would like to ask fellow sailors: Many centrifugal pumps are equipped with a minimum return line, and this line has a flow-limiting orifice plate. May I ask how the dimensions of this orifice plate are determined (i.e., its diameter and thickness)? If it is related to traffic, then what condition does this traffic refer to? Could everyone please explain in detail!
This orifice plate is calculated based on the minimum flow rate required by the pump, with the data for this minimum flow rate provided by the pump manufacturer

The pump manufacturer specifies the minimum backflow rate, and the orifice diameter can be calculated using sinet.
So, how exactly is this flow control orifice plate calculated? Why hasn’t anyone explained it in detail? Please ask the team members to provide an answer. Thank you
There are software tools available for calculating the appropriate orifice plates, but how can the parameters of these orifice plates be determined in a suitable manner?
