I would like to ask what a drain tank is; does it have any other names? I’ve never heard of this name. .
Its full name is a hydrophobic expansion tank. Its function is to collect the uncontaminated condensate from the turbine seal system and the extractors; this uncontaminated condensate may exist in a gas-liquid mixture, so it first flashes in the hydrophobic expansion tank before entering the condenser, where this process enables gas-liquid separation. The gas resulting from flashing then enters the top of the condenser to be cooled, while the liquid product of flashing goes into the hot well of the condenser.
How is the volume of the drain tank determined?
Its full name is a hydrophobic expansion tank, and its function is to collect the condensate from the turbine seal system, the cylinder drain fluid, and the extractor. This condensate may exist in a gas-liquid mixture; it flashes inside the hydrophobic expansion tank before entering the condenser, thereby stabilizing the liquid level in the heat well and enabling gas-liquid separation. The gas that results from flashing enters the top of the condenser for further cooling, while the liquid proceeds to the heat well of the condenser.
You call it a hydrophobic expansion tank, while we call it a cylinder condensate collector (code VF-20). The condensate from the gas-condensing turbine is collected in VF-20; after being heated by steam flashing, it is vaporized and then sent to the surface cooler of the gas-condensing turbine for recovery.
