Is there a centralized reaction taking place in the combustion chamber of the water-coal slurry gasifier?
Carbon dioxide reduction reaction, homogeneous water-gas reaction, methane formation reaction
In the gasifier, coal slurry and oxygen undergo a partial oxidation reaction to produce syngas composed mainly of CO, H2, CO2, and CH4. The reactions taking place in a gasifier are very complex, involving both reactions between gases and reactions between solids and gases. The main reactions that occur in a gasifier include: the heterogeneous water-gas reaction C + 2H2O → 2H2 + CO2 + Q; the shift reaction CO + H2O → CO2 + H2 + Q; the methanation reaction CO + 3H2 → CH4 + H2O + Q; the hydrogenation gasification reaction C + 2H2 → CH4 + Q; the partial oxidation reaction C + 1/2O2 → CO + Q; the oxidation reaction C + CO → 2CO + Q; the CO2 reduction reaction C + CO2 → 2CO + Q; and the thermal cracking reaction CmHn → (n/4)CH4 + C + Q. These are complex sequences of chemical reactions, and any change in one of the components will lead to changes in other components, directly affecting the progress of these reactions as well as the composition of the products. Consequently, the composition of the gases produced also changes. In production, if the generated gas cannot be directed to subsequent stages in a timely manner, its composition will inevitably change significantly.
