What is the difference between normal operating conditions and rated operating conditions?

The turbine manual states that the steam consumption under normal operating conditions differs from that under rated operating conditions by nearly 10 tons. I would like to ask the experts here for their advice.

I’ll still answer your question: the normal operating condition and rated operating condition of a pump usually refer to flow rate. Normal flow rate is the flow rate required by the pump during normal operation, while the rated flow rate is the flow rate chosen when selecting the pump. Typically, the rated flow rate is slightly higher than the normal flow rate (sometimes it is simply 1.1 times the normal flow rate, but this is not absolute). Under certain conditions, the rated flow rate can be equal to the normal flow rate.
