The ammonia scrubber for raw coal gas is located after E-2 (E-2 maintains the temperature above zero degrees). Is this setting reasonable? I’ve seen that the ammonia scrubbers in most units are located in the conversion section. I would appreciate it if experts could share their views; thanks for your guidance.
Are you referring to the methanol washing process? Could you upload the process so we can analyze it together? Where is your craftsmanship from? So, what’s the process after the ammonia scrubber? ?
It is the low-temperature methanol washing process; in the cooling section of the raw gas, the ammonia scrubber uses boiler feed water to remove the ammonia gas from it. Usually, this tower is installed in the conversion section. Would installing it in the low-temperature methanol washing section have an impact on subsequent processes?
Original poster, it would be great if you could attach the process flow and mark the key issues on the diagram. Also, it would be helpful to know where the process packages are located and what their capacity is; a description of this would be ideal.
What is the E--2 that the original poster is talking about? It’s not clear enough; be more specific! The ammonia scrubber tower is generally installed in the low-temperature methanol washing unit, at the front of the unit. The purpose is to go outside and remove ammonia compounds from the air!
The situation described by the poster does exist. The Luchi model features the design you mentioned: the transformed gas is first cooled appropriately before ammonia is removed from it. The temperature is kept above zero degrees Celsius during this process.
Let me briefly recap this process: the raw gas resulting from the transformation undergoes heat exchange with purified gas in E-1, then enters E-2 where it is cooled with ammonia. After that, it goes to T-1, which is the ammonia scrubber; there it is washed using cooled boiler water, and subsequently it enters a coiled heat exchanger for further cooling before reaching the absorption tower. My question is whether the placement of Tower T-1 is reasonable? Will other impurities be generated inside the tower?
What is the structure of an ammonia scrubber tower? What type of tower is it?
