How to calculate the wall temperature of the cylindrical shell in a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, and the wall temperature of the heat exchange tubes? These two items are in the detailed list; are they mandatory to fill in? I would appreciate it if you could provide some help and answers. Thank you for your assistance!
The wall temperature is calculated according to Appendix F of GB151; for fixed tube sheets, the calculation of both temperatures is required.
Fixed tube sheet heat exchangers must be considered; since temperature difference stresses need to be calculated, the calculations should be carried out in accordance with the appendix of GB151. There is a rough calculation method: for the shell side, use the average of the inlet and outlet temperatures; if the heat transfer coefficient on the tube side is high and that side is being heated, then use the average of the inlet and outlet temperatures on the tube side.
If the temperature of the fluid on the shell side is high and there is no insulation on that side, can the wall temperature in the shell side still be approximated as the average of the inlet and outlet temperatures? Should the ambient temperature be taken into consideration? How should we consider it? Thank you for the help.
