Those studying chemical engineering definitely need to use some practical software. However, as students, we mainly focus on textbooks and know very little about advanced scientific technologies in the form of software. Could those who are more experienced please advise us on the software that might be useful for chemical engineering? It would be great if you could also explain the specific functions of such software. Thank you very much! ! !
The easiest process to learn is a chemical engineering simulation software, such as Aspen.
CII is also indispensable; it’s better to have more knowledge of it, as it’s the leader in pipeline stress calculation software.
For those working in chemical engineering, I recommend this (other specialties such as equipment and structure are not covered): For computing tasks, MATLAB can be used to carry out various complex mathematical calculations, allowing one to free up time for thinking. Engineering drawing: AUTOCAD, MICROSTATION. Process-related tools: ASPEN – used for process simulation in chemical engineering systems. PRO II: Process simulation, widely used in petrochemical systems. CHEMCAD: Process simulation, widely used in educational settings. Process simulation software includes heat exchanger calculation software, which will not be discussed further. FRNC 5PC: Heating furnace calculation. FLUNT: Fluid computation. PIPNET, plantflow: pipeline network calculation. Factory model design: PDS (the subsequent product SMARTPLANT), PDMS, AUTOPLANT, CADWORX PLANT, PLANT 4D, PDSOFT, SPDA, PDMAX. Factory model design software all includes or comes with flowchart drawing software; standalone PID software is of little use. The PID software will not be introduced anymore. 3D model browsing: NavisWorks. Pipeline stress analysis: CARSAR II, AUTOPIPE, PRG PAULIN, WINNOZL. There are so many types of chemical engineering software that it’s impossible to list them all; I’ve only introduced the most commonly used ones. It’s great if you can master a few of them. Even after being in this field for so long, I haven’t managed to learn them all, so don’t set overly high goals for yourself.
