The texts in PetroChina’s 60 Lessons of English for Professional Titles are way too difficult

The texts in PetroChina’s English for Professional Titles course, Lesson 60, are really too difficult. I felt happy after going through the book once, but after reading it again, it’s as if I hadn’t read it at all. There are so many new words that I just can’t remember them. Is there any good way to deal with this problem? The translations of the texts are also quite hard to understand. What should I do? With the exam approaching, are you all extremely anxious? Hey, are there any good tips? Please give me some suggestions to help me out of this urgent situation! ! ! ! ! ! !
Is the professional English test for PetroChina different from that used nationwide? Actually, the professional English test is not that difficult compared to the CET-4 and CET-6; our colleagues scored around 80 or 90 points on it.
It is indeed different. The difficulty level of PET B for PetroChina’s professional title assessments is slightly higher than that of CET-4, while the difficulty level of PET A is on par with CET-6.
Some are indeed difficult, but don’t worry. Questions from CNPC exams don’t involve looking up words in a dictionary, so they won’t be too hard. For the texts, focus on the first 40 lessons – that’s relatively simple. For the last 20 lessons, just memorize the general meaning of the translations; there’s no need to know every single sentence; understanding the overall meaning is sufficient. In the exam, questions from those last 20 lessons will definitely appear in the translation section, and as long as you can convey the general meaning, you’ll get points. Once you see the actual sentences, you’ll be able to understand them
There’s no need to be so nervous; it’s not as difficult as imagined, though it is a bit challenging……
I haven’t taken it yet; I plan to take it this year. After taking a quick look, I think it covers quite a lot of topics. It’s not easy to master it in a short time
It seems that in past exams, lessons after 10 have not been included in the translation section; therefore, it’s sufficient to focus on the first 50 lessons. Most of the translation questions come from lessons 30 to 50
