What methods can be used to determine whether a breathing valve is functional?
Perform offline verification! The verification principle is the same as that for safety valves; the only difference is that the pressure of the gas source used for verification is much lower than that of the safety valve, and a U-tube manometer is used to measure its breathing pressure value. Exhale test (i.e., pressure test valve): We manufactured a pressure test cylinder to test two breathing valves at a time. An air compressor is a compressor used for cutting steel plate edges at construction sites. During the test, two breathing valves were connected to the two flange ports of the test cylinder. The outlet pipe 8 of the test cylinder was connected to the air compressor, and outlet pipe 9 was connected to the glass U-tube manometer; both connections were made using rubber hoses. Personally, I think a simple way is to run it for a while and then check whether the copper rod inside the breather valve is smooth, which can give a rough indication of its performance.
Offline testing is a method; if it is done online, one can check whether the valve cover of the breathing valve moves during operation. If it moves, this indicates that it works properly, but the positive and negative pressure values cannot be determined.
