Hello, everyone! I am currently dealing with a pipe with a pressure of 3.2 MPA and a temperature of 340 degrees. Since there is an exhaust section above this pipe and its length is relatively large, I would like to ask whether this exhaust section should also be included in the calculations Thank you all! The pipeline stress is being calculated. Since the diameter of the drainage pipe is relatively large, at DN200, I’m wondering whether omitting the calculation for this pipe will have an impact on the stress of the entire pipeline. I’m not quite sure what you’re calculating; if it’s the load, the weight of the empty pipeline should be included as well.

The drain pipe must definitely be included, and that as a load. It has an impact on the stress analysis of the pipeline

It’s not necessary to use DN200 for emptying; DN50 is sufficient.
My low-pressure pipeline uses DN600, with a DN200 vent setup.
The pipe diameters we use for emptying are DN25-DN80, and the weight of these pipes must be taken into account as it inevitably affects the stress on the pipes. Corrosion, fatigue, and creep are the main causes of accidents in pressure pipelines! So if it’s not taken into account, creep phenomenon may occur :) :)
