There are certain procedures and regulations regarding the shutdown and restart of instruments; different instruments have their own specific rules. For example, field transmitters, solenoid valves, PLCs, DCS systems, etc., all come with their own set of operating procedures or regulations. I’ve seen some relevant guidelines – please share them so we can learn from them together.
Mingming, no one is answering me to this question. Is it really true that no one has any experience in this area to share? Please give me your valuable advice. Let me talk about the power shutdown in DCS systems. When power is supplied, the I/O cards, data forwarding cards, main control card, and 24V power supply are all removed from their slots. At this point, the main switch is turned on. Generally, DCS systems are designed with dual power supplies: one provided by a UPS and the other by mains electricity. After the main switch is turned on, the 24V power supply is activated, after which the main control card, data forwarding cards, and I/O cards are inserted back into their slots to receive power. In the event of a power outage, there is no need to remove these cards; instead, the 24V power supply should be turned off first, followed by the main switch.
