Some time ago, our company conducted experiments on compacting coal pellets. We carried out moisture tests, and an interesting phenomenon was observed: we used a moisture testing device that was inserted into the coal powder. The moisture content of the loose coal powder was 7.0%; after pressing it, it rose to 8.5%, and after stepping on it, it reached 9.4%. The moisture content of the compacted coal pellets was then 11.5%. Well, I’m not sure which value is accurate
First, the moisture content of the blending coal should be tested, by measuring the moisture levels at different points; furthermore, this is related to the accuracy of the moisture testing equipment.
Every instrument has certain conditions under which it can be used; its values change under different conditions, so you should use it under the specified conditions
Isn’t the calibration conditions specified in the instructions for the moisture tester??? I think they should be there; in our factory, we take samples from coal trucks to determine moisture levels, using traditional drying methods.
Pay attention to the details: such as the representativeness of the samples taken, and the accuracy of each sampling process.
This is not surprising; as the specific gravity of coal increases, the water content per unit volume of coal naturally increases as well.
What is the unit? If it’s %, I think mxbin is wrong
This moisture meter surely measures the moisture content per unit volume; as coal becomes denser, its specific gravity increases, and thus the amount of moisture in the coal per unit volume also increases. It’s not the instrument’s fault.
