A few days ago, an instrument gauge was damaged during a test run following the centrifugal pump startup procedure; later, the maintenance team also attempted to run the pump according to the relevant procedures (as it’s a new factory, they might not be familiar with the type of pump), and another gauge was damaged... Are oil pumps generally positive-displacement pumps?
It is usually a screw pump or a gear pump.
They are generally positive displacement pumps. There are gear pumps, (internal meshing, external meshing) rotor pumps, screw pumps, and so on.

For screw pumps, all the centrifuges in our factory use screw pumps
It is usually a positive-displacement pump; since large centrifugal pumps are equivalent to small power units that require reliable operation and stable output pressure, choosing a rotary positive-displacement pump is a good option. Gear pumps are generally used in smaller power units, while screw pumps are used in larger ones.
But what’s unclear is why volume pumps are used everywhere – is it just to meet the pressure requirements?
The reason why you damaged the pump pressure gauge is probably because you didn’t follow the pump’s operating procedures. A positive displacement pump must have its outlet and backflow path in place before it can be started; otherwise, the pressure gauge will get damaged. But what happened to your safety valve? The outlet valve probably isn’t open; generally, gear pumps and screw pumps are used.
Use a screw pump or a gear pump. The output of these two types of pumps is relatively stable, with little fluctuation.
