There don’t seem to be many electrical-related options; this shows the auxiliary role of electricity in the chemical industry. There should be targeted questions. Nowadays, electrical automation is widely used in various industries, and PLCs are employed extensively. I think this is where we should start; what do you think, OP?
But I personally am not familiar with PLCs. I come from the field of traditional power generation, transformation, supply, and distribution. For automation, we now use DCS everywhere here. Nowadays, the electrical field is focused on automatic control. There are several times more posts over there than here :(
Indeed, those in the electrical engineering field need to strengthen their learning. Just like our company, which is an electromechanical engineering firm that specializes in providing talent services in the fields of machinery, electrical equipment, and instrumentation. I majored in *automation; I also worked with electrical equipment and instruments at other companies before. When I joined this company two years ago, I chose instrumentation as my field of specialization among these two areas. Mainly, I think the electrical engineering field is really amazing, like a real powerhouse. The young guys in our company’s instrumentation department all like to learn *things. There is no intention of belittling the field of electrical engineering; after all, electrical and instrumentation technologies are inseparable. We are all one family.
I mean, there aren’t many people here! The electrical engineering major is also quite popular; why are there so few people in it?
My colleagues in the electrical field are all drawing diagrams :lol or else they’re watching movies or playing games. .
The electrical engineering field is relatively much simpler, whereas control systems are far more complex. Even if one has a thorough understanding of the equipment used, that can at most qualify one as a theoretical expert; what’s really important is an understanding of the manufacturing process in order to come up with effective solutions.
Many people get started in the electrical field, but very few excel at it. One needs to specialize in this area; as the saying goes, there are specific areas of expertise. Let’s all learn together
The reason there are few people in the electrical engineering field is that companies do not pay much attention to electrical engineering these days. In the chemical industry, there are few people who specialize in instrumentation, so companies place great importance on it. It’s different with electrical engineering – most people have some knowledge of electrical systems, and that knowledge is often sufficient for use in ordinary companies. As a result, it’s easier for companies to recruit staff in this field. That’s why many people switch to working in instrumentation; it’s just my opinion though, and it may not be correct! ! :lol
In fact, it’s not easy to work in that field; isn’t studying also full of difficulties? On the contrary, it relates to organizations and companies; not all companies are the same. My organization lacks electrical engineers, and in our university, the employment rate for electrical engineering graduates is several times higher than that for those in instrumentation fields. Therefore, what matters in such posts is quality rather than quantity – it’s better to have few but qualified candidates rather than many unqualified ones.
