SIMSCI has recently released the dynamic simulation software DYNSIM. I was wondering if anyone who is experienced with it has used it, and I would like to know more about its specific applications

I’ve tried this software, and I personally think it’s pretty good. As for bugs, I don’t know because I haven’t used it myself. It’s completely simulating an actual factory. In a distillation column, when the feed rate increases, changes in the vapor-liquid phases, temperature, and pressure on the tray can be observed; unfortunately, there are few types of trays available. But it should be more or less the same as HYSYS’ dynamic simulation.
I just got this software and am installing it; I haven’t used it yet. I’ll leave a review after using it.
I am using it currently. Dynsim uses the same property and thermodynamic methods as Proii, achieving high simulation accuracy. For Proii, those familiar with simulation or process work know well that it is a software used for steady-state simulation. But the simulation is static. Dynsim is software for performing dynamic simulations. In addition to device simulation, it also includes calculations related to flow properties, control systems (PID), fault settings, scenario settings, etc. Therefore, it can be used to create virtual factories and to simulate start-up/shutdown processes as well as accidents. Generally, before performing dynsim modeling of a tower system, steady-state calculations are carried out using PROII, and the results are then imported into dynsim. For other devices, they can be directly simulated in Dynsim.
