I would like to know which standard specifies the thickness of galvanized steel pipes used in the chemical industry (for protecting electrical cables, in sizes of 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 2", 3", 4" – for use in buried installations). The design drawings do not specify a thickness; according to the Code for Acceptance of Construction Quality of Building Electrical Engineering GB50303-2003, clause 14.2.1 states that steel wire conduits with a wall thickness of 2 mm or less should not be buried in outdoor soil. According to Article 8.4.2 of the JGJ16-2008T Code for Electrical Design of Civil Buildings, metal steel pipes installed in humid areas or buried underground should be thick-walled pipes with a wall thickness of not less than 2 mm. When purchasing materials, Party A requires that the steel pipes must meet national standards. Neither of the two aforementioned specifications provides detailed information on the applicable scenarios; which specification outlines the requirements regarding the wall thickness of galvanized steel pipes used in chemical plants?
Greater than 2 mm; another issue is that larger sizes require thicker construction.
This is mandated by regulations. The thickness is specified during the design phase. In explosion-proof areas, electrical conduits must be made of galvanized steel pipes; according to national standards, the diameters available range from approximately 3.0 to 3.5 to 4.0. It is related to the nominal diameter of the pipe; I recently spent some time looking up information on this issue, so we can discuss it further if possible!
Check GB3091-82. I’ll confirm which specific requirements related to chemical explosion protection apply!
HG21508-92: For explosive hazard environments, steel pipe wiring should comply with the standards for galvanized welded steel pipes used for low-pressure fluid transport as specified in GB3091-82. The wall thickness is 2.75 for DN15……3.25 for DN25……and 3.5 for DN40
It refers to the electrical engineering within chemical engineering, where cable protection tubes are used for systems such as power supply, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems; If national standards are to be followed, then DN pipes should be used; there is a standard thickness for them, and if the thickness is too great… ; But no relevant standards can be found either
Check GB3091-82. It’s available on this. I also made a copy and stuck it together with the album. This way, you will have evidence to refer to when conducting inspections or supervision; P
Thank you all; the problem has been resolved. I have downloaded the GB3901-2008 standard for welded steel pipes used in low-pressure fluid transportation. The thickness of the steel pipes purchased falls within the lower limit of the allowed wall thickness tolerance – for 3/4\" pipes, the thickness is 2.5 mm, and for 1\" pipes, it is 3.0 mm, etc
