Since coke is used in blast furnaces, it is required to have low ash content, low sulfur content, and high strength. Moreover, most individual coal types are difficult to produce high-quality metallurgical coke with high mechanical strength in coke ovens. For the coal chemical industry, without high-quality coke with high strength, there is no room for better profits. In particular, some coking coals contain high levels of harmful impurities such as ash and sulfur, and therefore do not meet the requirements for metallurgical coke used in blast furnaces. Casting and other industries also have different requirements regarding coke quality; relying on a single type of coal for coking is not sufficient to solve these issues. It is necessary to use different grades of coal together in order to leverage their respective advantages and disadvantages, and thus produce qualified coke whose quality meets industrial requirements.
From the perspective of energy conservation, coal blending can reduce the consumption of high-quality raw coal, but the ultimate goal is to maximize the profits of coking enterprises.

While ensuring the quality of coke, as much high-volatility, weakly caking coal as possible should be used to increase the yield of coke chemical products and gas production. 3.
