The measurement principle of an online pH meter is the same as that of a laboratory pH meter; the only difference is that an online pH meter has at least the function of signal transmission, and those designed for specific applications also have features such as automatic probe cleaning.
An acidity meter measures concentration on a percentage scale; it is generally meaningful for pure acids and bases； PH is the negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration, and it is used when the concentration is very low ； It varies depending on the composition of the medium. For example, in desalinated water, the acid concentration is only around 1-2%, and the pH is generally below 0.xx or even negative; therefore, the pH value no longer has any practical significance in such cases
