Types of casting resins

Furan resin is a type of casting resin, also known as furfural-modified urea-formaldehyde resin. I have two questions: 1. What other types of casting resins are there? 2. Why is furan resin also called furfural-modified urea-formaldehyde resin? At least structurally, it has nothing to do with urea-formaldehyde resin.
1. Casting resins mainly fall into two categories of synthetic materials: furan-based and phenolic-based resins. 2. Since furan resins exhibit a high degree of expansion and contraction after curing, they can be modified by using phenolic or epoxy resins in order to alter their expansion properties; in this case, urea-formaldehyde is added as a modifier.
