What kind of compressor is used for low-pressure synthesis?
Below a pressure of 20 MPA, centrifugal compressors are generally used, as they facilitate the enlargement of individual units.
For pressures of 9–15 MPa, centrifugal compressors are a better choice for capacities of 18–30 or 30–52 units; they offer a high gas delivery rate, which meets the requirements for large circulation volumes, and they operate stably. The quality of equipment manufactured in China is mature, allowing for domestic production.
Centrifugal compressors are used in low-pressure methanol synthesis, and many such compressors have been produced and put into use by SHENGU.
