What material is the diaphragm of a diaphragm pump made of?
It’s usually materials like polytetrafluoroethylene, I guess.
Different materials are selected depending on the operating conditions, such as fluororubber, polyethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, metal diaphragms, etc.
Does the diaphragm bend back and forth while in operation? What are the requirements for the material of the diaphragm?
The diaphragm should be corrosion-resistant, and is generally made of corrosion-resistant rubber and thin metal sheets!
The most common type is the metal diaphragm, which appears to be made of stainless steel; this includes the diaphragms used in centrifugal pumps and the couplings of centrifugal pump units as well.
