Screw reactive extruders may be used in the polymerization process and during the extrusion of the final product. Does anyone have any information on this topic? Let’s discuss it
There are many screw extruders available these days, and they come in different types. The choice should be based on the properties of your material as well as those of the raw materials used; for example, whether stainless steel is needed or not... I think this is a complex issue that cannot be explained simply. There’s a book on the forum; I’m unable to download it, so you should go and take a look.
On the forum, there seems to be a description of a Cobelco extruder... in English; you can give it a search
In fact, the most mature application of reactive extrusion at present is the use of grafted anhydrides as compatibilizers; direct polymerization using nylon monomers has not yet been commercialized.
