The inlet gas flows down through the gap between the outer cylinder and the internal components, then exits through the five-way connector to go to the gas heat exchanger for heat exchange. After that, it enters the synthesis tower via the bottom five-way connector; there it exchanges heat with the gas exiting from that port, then rises up through the central tube to a height of zero meters. There it passes through the catalyst bed where a two-axis, two-diameter reaction takes place, after which it exchanges heat again with the inlet gas before exiting the synthesis tower and going to the waste heat boiler.
