Introduction to New Features in AutoCAD 2010

Some time ago I saw discussions about CAD 2010, and I happened to come across some new functions and features of version 2010 on the website, so I’d like to share them with everyone: 1. Icons: There are no changes, but that doesn’t mean they won’t change in the final version; Autodesk always keeps options open in this regard. 2. Graphic format: As predicted earlier, the graphic format of the new version is AutoCAD 2010, and it is not compatible with previous versions. But don’t worry, it can still be saved in the old version format. 3. Interface: There aren’t many changes to the interface this time (*; if there were more changes, everyone would find it unbearable). The usability has been improved, for example, command searches can now be performed directly from the menu. 4. 3D functions: There have been significant changes this time; grid objects have likely been added. Other 3D objects can be converted into grid objects, and grids can also be created directly. The advantage of grids is that their shape can be freely modified by the user as desired, such as smoothing corners, creating recesses, altering shapes, and dividing the surface into finer sections. 5. Parametric drawing: This feature is exactly what everyone has been expecting, and it was previewed earlier in the Mingjing Channel. It can achieve basic parameterization, such as geometric constraints, and can apply constraints in ways including horizontal, vertical, parallel, perpendicular, tangent, smooth, same point, same line, concentric, and symmetric ； Dimension constraints can also be used to lock objects, and by modifying the dimension values, the objects that are under constraint can be adjusted directly. 6. Dynamic blocks: Both geometric constraints and dimensional constraints can be added to dynamic blocks. In addition, the dynamic block editor has seen improvements in dynamic parameter management and the block attribute table. Moreover, within the block editor, it is possible to test the effects of block attributes directly without having to exit the block. 7. Graphic output: On the toolbar, graphics can be directly exported as DWF or PDF files. 8. PDF base map: The new version allows the use of PDF files as base maps, and their usage is the same as that of base maps in other file formats; if the geometric elements in the PDF file are vector-based, they can also be captured directly. 9. Custom functions: Older versions of the dashboard can be converted into tool panels. The top quick access tools can now be customized. Additionally, tool panels can also be associated in a hierarchical manner. 10. Installation startup settings: After the software is installed, several options will appear; these include choosing the units for graphics, deciding which toolbars to include, and selecting templates. Once these options are set, they will serve as the default values whenever users access it in the future. 11. Pattern enhancement: For unrelated patterns, the boundaries can be edited by dragging the grips. If boundary filling fails due to boundary issues, a red circle will be used to mark the location of the problem. 12. The viewport can be rotated: Now, the viewport in the layout can be rotated independently, at any angle. 2010 is really coming!
