Operating Procedures for the Slot Controller: To standardize the operation of the slot controller, the following procedures are established: 1. Power-on procedure: 1. Close the bipolar isolating switch inside the power box to supply power to the power board in the logic box as well as the voltage meter on the power box; 2. Turn on the power switch on the power board inside the logic box; the entire logic unit will then be powered and start operating ; 3. Close the three-pole isolating switch of the power box; at this point the power box is powered on. Press the start button on the signal detection board, and the slot controller begins to operate ; 4. Note: The “Pure Manual/Auto” switch on the signal detection board inside the power box should be set to “Auto” under normal conditions; in this case, the tank control system operates in automatic mode. The three-pole isolating switch is in the closed position, keeping the elevator powered on. Note: Under abnormal conditions, when this switch is set to the \"Pure Manual\" (MAN) mode, the slot controller is taken out of automatic control, and the raising/lowering of the anode as well as the shell breaking and discharging operations can be performed using the buttons on the power box. At this point, the operation can still be carried out even if the logic unit loses power or stops working. II. Shutdown procedure: Turn off the two-pole isolating switch and the three-pole air circuit breaker in the power box; the confirmation method is that all indicator lights inside and outside the machine go out. III. Operation method of the touch switch on the logic box: (I) Shell breaking 1. Breaking the shell simultaneously at two points – Touch the shell-breaking switch; the indicator light on the display panel will light up. At this point, the slot control unit carries out a simultaneous shell-breaking operation at two points, and once it is complete, the indicator light turns off automatically. If multiple shell-breaking operations are required, the process can be repeated after each operation is completed. 2. Single-point shell breaking: Touch both the shell-breaking switch and the parameter display at the same time; the shell-breaking indicator light on the display panel will light up. At this point, the slot controller will carry out a shell-breaking operation at point 1#, and the indicator light will turn off automatically once the operation is complete. If multiple 1# point shell-breaking operations are to be performed, the process can be repeated after each operation is completed. Similarly, by touching both the shell-breaking switch and the parameter view upward at the same time, the shell-breaking operation at point 2# will be carried out. (II) Material discharge: 1. Simultaneous discharge from two points – Touch the material discharge switch; the indicator lights for shell breaking and material discharge on the display panel will light up in sequence before turning off again. The slot control unit then carries out the process of shell breaking and material discharge from two points at the same time. If multiple cutting operations are required, the process can be repeated after each operation is completed. 2. Single-point feeding: Touch both the feeding switch and the parameter display button at the same time; the shell-breaking and feeding indicator lights on the display panel will light up, and at this point the slot controller will carry out a shell-breaking and feeding operation at point 1#. If multiple 1# point feeding operations are to be performed, the process can be repeated after each operation is completed. Similarly, by touching both the discharge switch and the parameter display button at the same time and moving them upward, the discharge operation at point 2# will be carried out. (III) Large feeding (that is: shell breaking and feeding performed five times in succession). First, press the manual/auto switch, then touch the feeding switch; the large feeding indicator light on the display panel will light up. At this point, the tank control unit will carry out shell breaking and feeding operations five times in a row, and it can be observed that the shell breaking and feeding indicator lights turn on and off five times sequentially. Once this process is completed, the aforementioned indicator light turns off automatically. If multiple large cutting operations are to be performed, the process can be repeated after one cycle is completed. (IV) Anode elevation: Touching both the manual/automatic switch and the anode elevation switch simultaneously will raise the anode ; By simultaneously touching the manual/automatic and anode drop switches, the anode can be moved downward, and the anode rise or anode drop indicator light on the display panel will light up. Note: (1) When executing these two commands, the operator should be clear about the purpose of the operation. During the process, they must monitor both the voltage value in the tank and the direction in which the anode moves to ensure that they are consistent with the intended purpose of the operation; if not, the operation should be stopped immediately, and maintenance personnel should be called to handle the situation ; (2) The time spent pressing the anode rise or anode fall switch once should not exceed 5.5 seconds (adjustable). If it is not possible to adjust the voltage (or move the anode) in one attempt, the operation can be repeated several times to prevent the safety timing protection circuit of the tank control system from activating and stopping the movement of the anode, thereby avoiding artificial faults in the operation of the tank control system ; (3) After the operation is completed, ensure that the lift has indeed stopped rotating before leaving the operation site ; (4) During normal control, since the commands to raise or lower the anode change the cell resistance and affect the cell controller’s ability to determine the alumina concentration in the electrolyzer, adjustments to the anode level should not be made casually, unless there is an abnormal cell voltage or issues related to anode performance. (5) Notification of the start and end of aluminum extraction, pole replacement, and processing (including emptying) operations: Before carrying out operations such as aluminum extraction, pole replacement, or processing (including emptying) on the electrolyzer, one should first press the corresponding notification switch; this will cause the corresponding indicator light on the display panel to light up, indicating that the operation has begun. After the task is completed, touch the corresponding notification switch again to turn off the corresponding indicator light on the display panel, indicating that the task has been completed. If the slot controller does not receive a notification of job completion within 0.5 hours after receiving the notification that the job has started (the indicator light turns on), it will proceed to conclude the job on its own and turn off the corresponding indicator light. If a certain operation is not carried out yet, but that operation is reported due to an error (that is, the indicator light for that operation is activated), as long as the corresponding switch is touched again within 5 minutes (2 minutes in the case of aluminum pouring) to turn off the indicator light, the tank control system will consider the report invalid. (VI) Bus lift operation: When performing the bus lift operation, upon touching the bus lift switch, the indicator light for the bus lift on the display panel will flash on and off at a rate of once per second. The bus lift password should be entered correctly using the following method: Press the bus lift switch with one finger until the indicator light turns on ; When the indicator light goes out, remove the finger from the switch promptly ; Press the switch again as soon as the indicator light turns on ; This process is repeated 4 times, until the indicator light stays on without going out – at that point the password has been entered correctly, and the control process shifts to that of lifting the busbar; by touching the switch for lifting the busbar, it can be raised. Note: (1) When entering the busbar password, the operator should not be impatient and should follow the instructions indicated by the lights step by step. (2) If the operation of this switch is stopped for 1 minute while the bus lift indicator light is on, the light begins to flash, indicating that it will turn off automatically after 1 minute (that is, the program will automatically switch from bus lift control to normal control). (3) Before operating the slot controller to lift the busbar, it is essential to ensure that all preparatory work has been completed; under no circumstances should the switch for lifting the busbar on the slot controller be activated before the preparations are done (especially before all clamps have been released). (7) Timer reset: If the continuous manual raising or lowering of the anode exceeds the set limit (which can be adjusted), or if for some other reason the internal safety protection circuit of the tank control unit detects that the time taken for the anode to move exceeds the set limit, the timer timeout indicator light on the display panel of the tank control unit will light up, thereby disabling both automatic and manual operations for raising and lowering the anode. In this case, the timer’s timeout indicator light can be turned off by pressing the timer reset switch, after which the elevation of the anode can return to normal. Timer reset can also be used to forcibly clear the fault flags related to forced tripping or abnormal elevation/settlement set by the tank control unit, allowing it to resume automatic voltage adjustment or manual anode elevation/settlement. However, if the tank control unit’s self-diagnosis detects such faults again, it will set the corresponding flags once more, rendering automatic and manual anode elevation/settlement ineffective once again. (8) Self-diagnosis and sampling diagnosis: This function is intended for maintenance personnel of tank control units. 1. Self-diagnosis: By simultaneously pressing the manual/automatic button and the parameter display button, the self-diagnosis indicator light on the display panel lights up, and the tank control unit performs a self-diagnosis to check whether components such as contacts and timing circuits are functioning properly. 2. Sampling diagnosis: By simultaneously touching the manual/automatic mode and the parameter view button and then pressing downward, the sampling diagnosis indicator light on the display panel lights up, and the slot controller performs a sampling diagnosis to check whether the voltage sampling circuit is functioning properly. Safety warning: Do not touch the circuit boards, electrical components, as well as exposed metal wires and connections inside the chassis while the slot controller is powered on, to avoid electric shock or damage to the machine!
