Dear sea friends, coking coal stored in coking plants for an extended period is prone to oxidation and deterioration, and may even catch fire on its own. Which plants have experienced spontaneous combustion of washed coking coal, and what were the specific causes and consequences? How to deal with it?
The storage period for coal in storage yards is generally determined based on the degree of its transformation. The higher the degree of transformation, the stronger the antioxidant properties of the coal; however, this cannot exceed certain limits. Typical storage periods are as follows: for bituminous coal, gas coal, coking coal, and lean coal – 70 days in the first and fourth quarters, 80 days, 100 days, and 100 days respectively; in the second and third quarters, these periods are 50 days, 70 days, 90 days, and 90 days respectively. The main natural phenomena that occur with coal stored in such yards involve coal that has undergone partial transformation, such as weakly sticky coal and gas coal. Measures taken to address this include strict management of the storage period； It was naturally buried with a bulldozer and extinguished with water
