Precautions for starting up the pure oxygen catalytic partial oxidation process – what should be noted during on-site operations when oxygen is introduced?
A. Before introducing oxygen into the converter, the temperature at the inlet of the converter must be higher than the ignition point of pure oxygen; since both coke oven gas and oxygen contain some water vapor, a higher temperature is required for ignition. Oxygen can begin to be introduced when the temperature at the converter inlet reaches 650°C; B. After the conversion furnace has completed reduction, the load can be increased to 50% of the design flow rate, with a H2O/C ratio of 3–5 ; C. Oxygen introduction operation in the converter: During ignition, the oxygen space velocity should not be too high; the pressure of the system and the materials must remain stable. An initial amount of oxygen should be introduced in small quantities, and only after it is confirmed that ignition has occurred (i.e., when the bed temperature rises rapidly) can the amount of oxygen introduced be gradually increased to 30% of the designed oxygen flow rate, with the temperature rise rate kept below 60°C/h ; If ignition is not successful, the supplied oxygen should be immediately cut off, replaced with steam, and ignition attempted again to prevent the formation of explosive gases inside the furnace. D. After the on-site operator has checked and adjusted the oxygen valve, he/she should monitor the liquid level in the gas-liquid separator, the liquid level in the drum, as well as the startup steam pressure, etc
At the site, it is necessary to drain all the water from the steam-to-oxygen pipeline; only after steam begins to emerge should oxygen be introduced into the pipeline. Once oxygen has been supplied, the water that collects in the pipeline must also be drained, and the system should be shut off once steam is produced. After that, the control room should be informed, and then the valves before and after the oxygen supply valve should be opened. Once the control room gives the signal, the personnel on site can step back, and oxygen supply can begin
