I have used both membrane recovery and pressure swing adsorption, and pressure swing adsorption is much better!
The most reasonable process is to first use a membrane to recover 90–95% of the VCM, and then use PSA to absorb the remaining small amount of VCM; this way, the emission levels can be kept below 10 ppm at all times. Given the characteristics of the calcium carbide process, the volume and composition of the exhaust gases vary greatly. Using PSA alone for VCM recovery is feasible, but it is difficult to ensure that emission standards are met at all times.

Currently, some companies in China use membranes to recover VCM, but these are not the best membranes available abroad; therefore, the efficiency of this process is not as good as that achieved with foreign membranes Abroad, it’s possible to recover it directly using membrane methods to meet the standards!
