Film repair machines are generally provided by the manufacturers that sell films; you can get in touch with them
We use electrolyzers from Chlorine Engineering and membranes from Asahi Glass. I think if they are all sulfonic acid/carboxylic acid membranes, regardless of the manufacturer, shouldn’t the membrane repair machine be compatible with them?
It’s best not to use a film laminating machine, as it offers little benefit in terms of operating costs. The lifespan of a repaired membrane cannot match that of a new one, and it is also prone to problems. Above: Personal opinion.
In fact, there is little use in using a film repair machine; the repaired film will develop cracks again within a very short time after being put into use. Our factory does have such a machine, but it has hardly been used in 3 years – it came along with the film when it was purchased, and its usefulness is limited.
Based on several years of operation, it has been found that the use of patch films is not very effective; after installation, not only is the cell voltage high, but new pinholes also easily form around the area that has been repaired. Aren’t the membranes from Asahi Glass recyclable?

Repairing the films is quite convenient – there are pre-programmed procedures, and it’s done in just a short time. The effect is average; most of the membranes, after being repaired, are still used, and of course the cell voltage is slightly higher. There are also a few that break as soon as the car is started. What this repaired membrane fears the most are start-up and shutdown processes; if the startup is successful, there are basically no problems. The use of patch membranes is not very effective, as they easily cause new pinholes around the area being repaired. It is recommended not to use it; just replace it with another one~~·
Since Asahi Kasei has equipped itself with film repair machines, it’s definitely possible to carry out repairs, and the repaired films should be usable. As for what was said above regarding those repair machines being practically useless, it’s likely that the strength of the films you use is too low; after repair, such films have little value for use. However, films with higher strength can still be used after repair.
My sister is right; we won’t buy this thing. We’ll just fix it with a soldering iron, and the result is good enough;P
Every time we purchase membranes, DuPont provides some supplementary membranes, and there are also membrane repair machines offered by battery cell suppliers; unfortunately, I’ve never used any of them once. :L
