In the calculation process for the tube sheet (type E) of a fixed-tube-sheet heat exchanger, if the thickness of the tube sheet is assumed to be 26 mm and the depth of the partition groove is 4 mm, how should the thickness of the flange that serves both as a tube sheet and a flange be determined? Of course, I calculated the flange of the tube box first (it is a standard flange), while the flange of the cylinder was found to be quite thick. How can the most appropriate value be calculated and selected?
During the calculation process carried out by the software, there is an item that represents the difference between the tube sheet and the flange; by calculating this, the thickness of the flange can also be determined.
But what does it mean that the calculation instructions for the SW6-98 fixed-plate heat exchanger (page 48) state that this parameter does not need to be entered when checking the plate thickness?
But how is the difference in thickness between the tube sheet and the flange determined here?
Generally, the thickness difference between the flange and the tube sheet is 7 mm
