The liquid distribution devices for packed towers that I am aware of include: tubular sprayers, porous tubular sprayers, pellet-type sprayers, and disc distributors

Grooved liquid distributor: Suitable for larger towers, requiring more vertical space inside the tower, but offering better performance. Tray-type: It is relatively compact; it occupies more vertical space inside the tower, but it offers good performance. It is currently the most commonly used in medium-sized towers. Tubular and loop-type: simple distributors that require little vertical space; they can be considered if the distribution requirements are not high. Nozzle type: It is hardly used these days; its performance is the worst. A certain pressure is required to ensure spraying over a large area. Additionally, flow-blocking rings are also used, which can also serve a distribution function.
They are divided into gravity-type and pressure-type distributors. Gravity-type distributors are used in cases of large tower diameters and high flow rates. The main types include trough-type liquid distributors, which can be either single-main-trough or multi-main-trough types; in addition, the main trough and the secondary troughs may be located at different heights; There may be a secondary distributor ; Slot tray type: mainly used in collection and redistribution or extraction applications, and is equipped with a rising gas cap ; Good control over levelness is required ; Tubular: Relatively simple, mainly used in multi-stream trays ; A pressure-type distributor of the tubular type; it does not require nozzles, and usually features a row of holes arranged at a 45-degree angle downward ; Nozzle type: Generally used with bulk packing materials; the choice of model depends on the spraying angle and the requirements regarding overlap. Nozzles of this type are relatively expensive; of course, these nozzles are not the same as shower heads.
