Moderators of the safe zone, how about some more challenging targets?

Quantity and quality; I think quality is more important. To improve quality, I personally think it relies a lot on the guidance of experts. Could we bring in more experts to actively encourage everyone to speak? Improve the quality of posts and comments!

1. A large volume of high-quality posts – this is certainly the goal we strive for, but we haven’t been able to achieve it yet； 2. Large volume of posts with low quality: Putting aside the irrelevant elements, a large volume of posts indicates many participants; even if the quality is low, it’s still possible to find some interesting topics or talented individuals among them ； Disadvantages: Many issues cannot be explored in depth or end without resolution ； 3. Fewer posts but of high quality; advantage: topics can be discussed in depth or resolved, with strong educational value ； Disadvantage: Perhaps it’s too sophisticated for a broad audience, making it hard to spark intellectual insights? Or is the scope involved narrower? 4. Low volume and low quality of posts; we have already moved past this stage, so there’s no need to discuss it! It is recommended to focus on ensuring the quality of posts and management for now, as aside from the moderator who oversees overseas matters, there are six other moderators including myself whose experience is still limited. Although it’s not as one-sided as Zhenzhenyouci claims, there is indeed room for improvement in terms of management. Therefore, I personally think it’s better to focus on maintaining quality first; once the number of posts and levels of management increase, more people will get involved, and the volume of posts will naturally rise as well! Regarding the issue of deleting posts that exceeded the character limit, I already explained the situation and apologized to the person in question via text message; I’d like to apologize again here. I’ll be more careful next time, O(∩_∩)O haha~!

Measures to improve the quality and quantity of posts: 1. Actively identify technical discussants； Increase permissions and provide subsidies ； Because no technical discussants have been seen speaking in the safety engineering area for a long time. Of course, there are also consultants. I’m not sure if it’s feasible. There’s no need to apply on your own; a moderator’s recommendation is sufficient. 2. Continue to increase the emphasis on scoring. 3. Adjust the sections by adding a fire protection section (suggested by Haiyou); a occupational health section can serve as a sub-section for discussions on safety engineering. Have more detailed discussions.

I think that, among the 200 posts in this section at present, the majority come from replies by a few moderators and contributions from a small number of enthusiastic members; these people constitute the core force behind the development of this section, and they are the key guarantee for both the quantity and quality of the posts here! For those members who appear briefly within the forum (and are not frequent visitors), they should be our target for development. The key to this is figuring out how to keep them in the secure section of the forum, as this is a prerequisite for its development. Organizing various events is a good way to boost the popularity of a section and attract more attention. It is also a way to attract members who don’t visit the section very often to engage in discussions within it. Regarding these three aspects, as to how to proceed and how to develop them, our moderators need to use their brains more actively.

As a scholar, I have attended several security forums, and I find this one to be the best (by no means flattery)! Most people who come to the forum do so to get what they need, to read topics that are relevant to their work or studies; therefore I believe that quantity should be the priority at present. As the number of users increases, the quality will improve as well! Although the forum focuses on the chemical industry, our safety forum can welcome safety professionals from various industries to participate, and we can promote it through other comprehensive safety forums as well as industry-specific safety forums! As the saying goes, stones from other mountains can be used to polish jade; there must be elements of commonality in the safety management methods, systems, and theories from other industries!

It seems that the issues discussed are too narrow, often limited to the site itself; other aspects such as safety records, safety protocols, information sharing, and effective management methods are also relevant. After the materials are uploaded, they are placed in the information sharing area, but relatively few people participate in them, and it’s not possible to leave comments or discuss ways to improve these materials. As LS said, others’ experiences can serve as a source of inspiration. If necessary discussions could be held on these materials as well, it is believed that this could lead to further improvements

The moderators upstairs have already conducted a detailed analysis of the external factors at play, and I would like to share my own opinion as well: I believe that in order to retain both those who are just passing through briefly and the existing core members, we need to make use of an \"important right\" granted to us by the forum – the ability to rate. I’m sure the moderators reading this must be thinking, \"Nonsense!\" Please be patient and read on. I think the “right” to give ratings that the forum grants us includes two aspects: first, giving high-rated scores (of course, without violating the forum’s rating rules). I do not recommend giving high scores only to posts that are considered to be the so-called best posts, high-quality posts, or posts with a large number of words. When we see a new post or a reply related to the topic, we should give it a high score promptly (please note, moderators, that it needs to be done promptly). This way, the person who posted the content can determine whether it’s worth the effort. If even they themselves find it unsatisfactory, I think they will definitely think more about it and take action—by posting again! II. Another action in scoring – the reason for the operation. The forum has provided us with some common phrases used to explain the reasons behind scoring, making our tasks easier and more convenient! It is for this very reason that our reasons for scoring become identical, missing out on the great opportunity to continue communicating with Haiyou! We’re back to the issue of quality and quantity. The Safe Version has been around for so long, yet it seems no standout posts have appeared there, which is indeed regrettable. A good forum must have a solid foundation, and standout posts are often the best and most direct reflection of that. HaiChuan is full of talented people, and the Safe Version is no exception; the question is how to motivate them to participate more actively, encourage original content creation, serve as an example to inspire others, and attract new members to get involved. There is another issue: as many new members have pointed out, the questions they ask are often highly technical in nature, and they rarely receive responses or satisfactory answers, which in turn reduces the enthusiasm of new members to participate. Could a team of technical experts be organized to provide answers to such highly technical questions, with moderators collecting these questions and submitting them to the technical expert team?

I haven’t been here for a long time; I came back to check out this forum today. The idea of an advanced version is great – it means we’ll need to set some more challenging goals! A technical forum is not a science popularization forum!
