I am not engaged in chemical engineering, so I would like to ask you two conceptual questions: 1. What does sulfur-tolerant reaction mean? Is it desulfurization? Can low-temperature methanol washing, or MDEA, etc. be called sulfur-tolerant? 2. What does purge gas refer to? The final waste gas of ammonia synthesis is called purge gas????
Sulfur-resistant reaction means that the catalyst will not be poisoned by the presence of sulfur. However, the catalyst for sulfur-resistant reaction will be deactivated due to sulfur loss when the sulfur content of the raw material is too small. Low-temperature methanol washing is a physical process and there is no reaction problem. Relaxation gas is not tail gas, but a part of the gas discharged to adjust the components of the reaction raw gas. The crude syngas enters the sulfur-tolerance conversion section after ash removal and purification. A large amount of acidic gases (mainly H2S and C02) in the conversion gas are absorbed by the Linde low-temperature methanol method, and desorbed in stages to obtain a part of pure C02.
Sulfur tolerance mainly means that general catalysts are sensitive to sulfur content, but the catalysts we use during conversion work in conditions rich in sulfur. I have seen carbon disulfide used as an activator to activate the conversion catalyst before starting the conversion.
