Our company is currently constructing a 5,000 M3 wet spiral gas holder, which is used primarily for storing catalytic dry gas as well as the gas that is vented during coking processes. There is no separate desulfurization unit before this gas holder, so the vented gas contains a relatively high level of sulfur. We would like to ask for advice on how to prevent corrosion in this gas holder.
The exhaust gas contains high levels of sulfur; should a exhaust gas recovery system be installed to fix the sulfur in the form of compounds? As for the corrosion protection of gas tanks, if hydrogen sulfide is involved, attention should be paid to the treatment of the steel to prevent hydrogen embrittlement. It may be necessary to apply anti-corrosion treatment to the entire gas tank area, which results in higher costs.
Two coats of rust removal, two coats of primer, two coats of intermediate coat, and 2–3 coats of topcoat (epoxy coal tar paint). The key is to ensure high construction quality.
Without a tail gas recovery system, the released gases contain a certain amount of hydrogen sulfide along with oil. Is there a specific anti-corrosion construction plan?
