Roots blower seal leakage problem

There are two semi-enclosed Roots blowers in my unit that are leaking air. Due to the low indoor ventilation in winter, there is a hidden danger of excessive hydrogen and carbon monoxide. I want to drill holes (6mm) in the open opening and seal it with screws and an iron plate, and connect a pipe to the upper opening to lead it to the outside. I wonder how much damage will be done to the cast iron?
It should be fundamentally solved and the oil seal should be replaced, preferably with fluororubber. Long service life.
Don't drill holes. If you don't drill well in cast iron, the equipment will be damaged. You should still accept the suggestion from upstairs and replace the seal to solve the problem completely.
I suggest the owner to solve it as soon as possible, or to strengthen the ventilation of the factory. This is a serious hidden danger. If there is an open fire, the accident will definitely be serious.
