1) The semi-coke projects are mainly concentrated in the Shenfu area of northern Shaanxi, Ordos in Inner Mongolia, Shizuishan in Ningxia, and Datong in Shanxi, because those regions are known for producing Jurassic coal with a low degree of coalification. Yima in Henan has abundant long-flame coal resources, while the Northeast and Yunnan are also rich in lignite. Why then have no large-scale semi-coke plants been established there? Is it because of the high level of phosmet? Is it still only Jurassic coal that is suitable for dry distillation to produce semi-coke? What are the specific indicators of semi-coke for lignite/long-flame coal? 2) Currently, semi-coke is mostly produced in internally heated vertical furnaces. What is the investment cost for a single furnace with a capacity of 30,000–50,000 tons per year, along with conveyor belts, tar sedimentation tanks, etc.? 3) What is the current price of semi-coke for calcium carbide production and ferroalloys?
