Regarding boiler heads

Our process engineering department wants to change the flat head of the boiler to an elliptical head. Do anyone have any suggestions on how to do this, other than simply pressing it into shape?

I don’t understand what the original poster means; just use a pre-formed elliptical head.
What does the original poster mean? If we ask which is better, a flat head or an elliptical head, then obviously the elliptical head is better.
