What is the value of a diploma from an open university? It’s certainly lower than that of regular universities; how does it compare to other options such as self-study exams? What is the ranking?
It falls under the five main categories of adult education; personally, I feel that a degree obtained through this system is more legitimate compared to self-study exams, vocational colleges, evening schools, or correspondence courses. However, for employers, there is a big difference between such degrees and those from regular universities, so it’s better to obtain as many certificates as possible – they are more useful than a diploma from an open university.
Practical experience is more convincing after all; a diploma is, in essence, just a piece of paper – it’s a stepping stone, and you really can’t do without it

Personally, I think it would be more reasonable to rank the Open University lower among the top 5. The most valuable option is self-study exams.

In my opinion, in terms of its value, a diploma obtained through self-study examinations for an undergraduate degree is of higher quality than a regular undergraduate diploma. If current undergraduate graduates were to take these self-study exams, how many of them would pass? Learning relies on one’s own efforts; the university campus is merely a place where we can interact and gain experiences.
