The erosion and corrosion of the pipeline behind the P4 valve is often serious, but I only heard about it and didn't take it seriously. Some time ago, a set of running aqueous solution equipment had urine rushing out from the rear elbow of the P4 valve. After parking and inspection, it was found that it was severely thinned by erosion and corrosion. Fortunately, it did not cause any major adverse effects. Here, one is to remind everyone through communication, and the other is to hope that everyone can fully communicate on whether similar problems have occurred and how to avoid them.
It is estimated that there is a problem with the material of the elbow, or that the pipe wall of the elbow is not standardized, and it is easy to cause accidents.
The erosion and corrosion of high-pressure rings is very serious, especially since many pipes/valves do not have lining protection like equipment. During an overhaul inspection in our factory, it was found that almost half of the valve core of the outlet regulating valve of the synthesis tower was washed away. From now on, key points such as elbows and throttling points will be disassembled and inspected every year, and all pipelines will be inspected regularly.
The wall thickness of high-pressure material pipelines must be measured basically every year, and the welds must be inspected to minimize safety hazards. The serious corrosion of pipelines after P4 may be due to the material, the control of process indicators, or it may be related to the direction of the pipeline. Elbows and valves are places where resistance drops the most and erosion is the most severe, especially in the high-pressure and highly corrosive areas of the synthesis tower outlet. It is recommended that the owner of the P4 valve rear elbow consider using a higher grade material such as 25-22-2 instead of 316L, and strengthen corrosion monitoring in key areas.
