How to calculate the furnace temperature based on the CH4 content in the syngas? I’ve never heard of that; it’s simply used, along with the curve showing changes in CH4 levels, to estimate the furnace temperature – if the CH4 level is high, then the furnace temperature is low, and vice versa! The reaction inside the gasifier is a complex process, and under specific operational conditions, the CH4 content must be maintained within a certain range! ! !
Theoretically, under constant coal quality conditions, the gasification temperature and methane content are in a linear functional relationship with one another. However, the actual coal quality is unstable, and the measurement instruments have large errors, making it impossible to determine the furnace temperature simply based on the methane content. By statistical analysis, the relative relationship between furnace temperature and methane can be determined to assess the trend in furnace temperature; it is also advisable to take into account changes in other components of the process gas as well as the conditions of the slag samples on site.
As the friend above mentioned, CH4 is just an auxiliary tool for judgment, but it is still very useful for production control. However, in the case of design calculations, chemical reactions and thermodynamic calculations for the entire gasification chamber should be taken into account. If it is the theoretical adiabatic temperature, it can be estimated using several key chemical reactions or calculated with relevant software.
Depending on the coal quality and gasification conditions, the furnace temperature also varies. Relying on methane levels to determine the furnace temperature results in significant errors; therefore, it is possible only to roughly assess whether the furnace temperature is high or low based on the amount of methane present

The amount of methane produced during carbonization varies depending on the coal quality.
Even for the same manufacturer, different furnaces have different relationship curves between temperature and methane.
