By checking the mechanical design manual for grade equivalents, RST37-2 is an old German grade; I’m not sure what equivalent new grade it corresponds to Compared to domestic steel grades, is RST37-2 equivalent to Q235D or Q235B?
RST37-2 is a grade of carbon structural steel in Germany. In China, this material corresponds to the carbon structural steel Q235B (the old grade was A3-B). Additionally, since this steel is similar to China’s high-quality carbon structural steel 20, it can also be replaced by steel grade 20
If it is sheet metal, it’s fine to use Q235B as a substitute; but can Q235A be used as a substitute for shaped metals (such as H-beams and channel steels)? Could you please provide an answer again? Thank you! !

Similar grades include St37-2, RSt37-2 (DIN17100‑80); Fe360B (EN10025:1990); S235JR (EN10025:1993); Q235B (GB 912‑89/GB 3274‑88). The specification for thickness is ≤25.4 mm. As for the chemical composition, in terms of weight percentage: C ≤0.17, Si, Mn ≤1.25, P, S, Cr, Ni, W, Mo, Nb, V, Ti, Al ≥0.02, Cu, Co, and others. Regarding mechanical and processing properties, the yield strength Re, in MPa, is ≥235. For tensile tests, transverse specimens are used; when yield behavior is not obvious, Rp0.2 is used instead. When the thickness exceeds 16.0 mm, the upper yield strength should be ≥225 MPa. For the bending test, transverse specimens are used; specimens with a length of b ≥ 20 mm are employed for this test, and 20 mm is used for the arbitration test.
